About Me

I have always had a passion for the captured frame. During my high school and college years, I dedicated myself to learning to tell a story through the crafts of filmmaking and photography. After graduating from the University of Iowa with a BA in Communication Studies (film) and a minor in photography, I moved to New York City to start a film production company which specialized in broadcast production, design and animation. I am currently the managing partner of Merge Creative Media, LLC based in New York City. Over the past 20 years, I have helped to guide the company from a start-up to a prominent position in both the production and motion design industries.

Recently, I have been dedicating more time to rediscovering my love for the single frame and the complex story a still photograph can convey. With almost 20 years of working with the moving image, I have realized that my passion lies in action and  lifestyle photography. Coming from the film world, I use my extensive knowledge of motion and design to create images that not only tell the story of what is happening in the frame, but also what has happened and what will happen in relation to that moment.
